this foreign mansion
I wondered what it would feel like to be a sound system.
this foreign mansion is an immersive participatory territory for dancing, being together and sharing non violent ways of regenerating.
It uses dance, plants, flashing lights and heavy bass.
Collective breaks of silence/ rebuilding after a fire/ committing to something that has no permanency/ JUST DANCING/ being alone in groups.
Celebrating the formation of temporary communities as a process of healing and resistance
I didn't want to keep building extensions in the roof when I’m too scared to go in my own basement, the stairs are unfamiliar and I don't have time to turn on the lights...or something like that.
Thank you Grow Tottenham for the space to recover/ move/ build/water plants/ talk to the speakers/ cry in the dark/ decide to commit/ dance/ learn how to grow stuff/ fight/ play music so loud I had company/ reside/ know my rage/ know my balance/ laugh in the sun and nothing else/ Un-pack the bags/ process desire/ know my bass... and the rest.
In a space thats growing, building, resilient, changing, under threat, constantly re-setting, not ashamed of the day before, sweating, settled, pushing forward, processing, raving around me.
